This groovy rib knit is stretchy (2 sides!), made of cotton and just as supple, soft and stretchy as the fine rib knit SOFT from our collection. The rib has a somewhat tougher appearance and these ribs also run lengthwise. Of course, these fabrics are also available in the trendiest colors of our BEEBS collection.
The fabric is knitted together with extra long threads, which prevents the fabric from fraying after cutting. Compact Yarn, also known as compt yarn (yarn twisted into a very small rotating triangle), has been used, which gives yarns better strength, better stretch and better quality. Compact yarn (strongly plied), pills less than loose yarn (with little twist).
The fabric is suitable for sewing various clothing items (cardigan, pants, etc.) but also nice for a snuggle/cocoon, shawl, romper or children's underwear, for example. The fabric can be used both lengthwise and widthwise, even though the rib runs lengthwise. This fabric is also often used as cuff fabric instead of our standard cuff fabric.
The shrinkage of these fabrics will be approximately 5-7% (210g/m2 - approximately 125cm wide).
