Our History: Over 40 Years of Experience in the Fabric World!
My parents, Ans and Kick van der Heijden, spent over 30 years joyfully attending various markets, regardless of the weather. They initially sold fashion fabrics, and later focused primarily on cotton fabrics for children, crib textiles, and animal prints.
In 2013, after several years away from the business, I joined when my father fell ill. I enjoyed it so much that we decided I would take over "the market." The thrill of selling, advising, and interacting with customers suited me perfectly.
Since my father's passing in the summer of 2014, my mother and I continued to visit the fabric market in Utrecht every week. It was always a wonderful experience, until the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to move away from the markets. From that point on, we transitioned entirely to online sales.
We are always ready to provide our customers with advice, even online. In addition to the beautiful photos and matching items displayed in our webshop, we also offer personalized advice via email. We love working with our customers and will even take photos on request if there's any uncertainty about combinations.
In 2014, in line with the times, I decided to start selling fabrics online to private customers, but we’ve since gained many business clients who use our fabrics for their creative enterprises. Initially, we did this through email and our website, but since 2018, everything has been handled through our own webshop, which I built myself. After 20 years of having a different job, I decided to become a full-time ‘fabric lady’. Now, I handle everything: from sourcing and production to delivering to customers, with the help of our team.
In recent years, we’ve greatly expanded our collection, including fabrics like tricot, muslin, ribbed fabrics, jogging fabrics, organic fabrics, fashion fabrics, teddy fabrics, fleece, and the exclusive BEEBS® collection. Additionally, we have several fabrics that have been popular in our collection for years, such as our cotton fabrics with the Oeko-Tex certification, our broderie collection, flannel and molton, cotton teddy, terry cloth, waffle cotton, bamboo terry, and a wide selection of crib bedding fabrics.
