Waterproof and water-repellent fabrics like PUL, raincoat fabric, coated cotton and quilted materials – perfect for jackets, bibs, bags and more.
In this category, you'll find fabrics that can handle anything from a light drizzle to a full downpour. There's a difference between waterproof and water-repellent, and we’re happy to explain it briefly.
Waterproof fabrics, such as PUL, form a complete barrier against moisture. This breathable, flexible fabric is ideal for reusable nappies, bibs or wet bags. Some types of raincoat fabric are also fully waterproof – perfect for practical outdoor clothing.
Water-repellent fabrics resist water to a certain extent; droplets bead off the surface, but moisture may eventually seep through with longer exposure. Coated cotton is a great example – soft and pliable, perfect for pouches, aprons or tablecloths.
Our quilted fabrics combine comfort and light weather protection: with a water-repellent outer layer, light padding and a soft inner side, they're ideal for lined jackets, blankets or footmuffs.
Each fabric has its own strengths – but they all offer extra protection against the elements.
